    Finally getting a 4" GP-100. Holster/night sight options?

Well I have wanted one for years, and stupidly settled for a 3" sp101 when my lgs ran out a couple years back (loved the gun but I really wanted a full size tank of a revolver).

Thanks to a calgunner, I'm even getting the exact gp100 I want. The 4" blued model.

I'm gonna have to make a pretty good drive for it but it's so worth it for me.

I want to get a couple different holsters for it, but I'm thinking for the first holster, I would just like a simple leather thumb break holster. Next 8 would like a Kydex holster just because I've never tried Kydex on a full size revolver.

I also want to get night sights for it (in going to be using this on duty) what would you guys recommend?

Congrats on the find. I've yet to add a revolver to my list but I've played with a couple blued 4" gp100s that had an amazing trigger that will one day be added to the collection. Everyone gets off on the stainless but there's something about the blueing on this revolver that is just plain sexy.

I used to be obsessed with stainless revolvers but for some reason the 4" blued gp100's just call to me. A modern classic.

I can't help you with holsters, but I did put Meprolight night sights on my GP100 and am very happy with them.
The GP100 probably has the easiest sights to change out of any handgun, ever. It took me three minutes.

Go look through El Paso Saddlery's website. Mixed in with all the western stuff are some beautifully simple leather thumbreak holsters, owb for open carry. I have acquired two of these style holsters for an inbound S&W 696.

I'm interested as well. Especially in a front site that doesn't require any drilling or fitting.

OP, decades ago I tried a friends Ruger but ended up with an N-frame Model 28. Best holster I've seen, and I'm on my second, is by Bianchi. ELP Saddlery is OK, but better leather and workmanship imo on the Bianchi. Milt Sparks might be persuaded to build one, but they're both beautiful and spendy.

Metro or Trigicon for the front sight...check Brownells' catalog.

Wow thanks for all the replies on holsters! I found some good sights already. They seem really easy to install too.

Does anybody have any pictures of their GP100 in holster? I would like to see what kind of form the holster has.

Here's a pic of my GP100 Blued in my holster. Doesn't have any kind of retention but has a nice tight fit. Nice leather. Got it from Braids Holster online. $51 shipped.

Oh wow that looks like good thick leather. Cow hide horsehide?

I love me some good old fashioned leathergear gun porn...

Don't know if it's cow or horse.

                              Nothing Google-fu can't fix! Lol.

I'm really I retested in Kydex holsters for revolvers too. I've never really seen anybody using them but I feel like they might be comfy.
