1911 that has never has sights - HELP

I have a 1911 Government model and I have never had sights on it. I want to get it out to the so next it's time to put sights on it. What's a good way to figure out what to buy? The slide is already has Novak cuts but how do you know what height to buy?

What I'm considering but not confident:
    - 10-8 Performance rear sight. .325" high and a .140" u-notch
    - Novak Target Ring Tritium Front Sight, Govt. .160" height .125" wide blade

Do I just buy, shoot and if I'm off buy and shorter or tall front sight?

There has got to be some math I can do to figure this out.

Call Brownells technical pre-sales. They can spec out what you need including heights.

Also, you may consider an adjustable rear so that if the Front is not a perfect match to how your barrel sits, you could just adjust the rear.

+1 there is nothing wrong with using an adjustable rear sight.

Dawson Precision. They sell sights in sets and their customer service is second to none.

                      This ^^^^^^

I tend to prefer adjustable sights on a 1911 although my Colt XSEs are great with the fixed sights.

I'm not finding many options for adjustable rear Novak cut, that would be good for low light. Either tritium or quality fiber optic would work. Did you ever find any leads?

They came from the slide manufacturer. I picked up the 10-8 U notch rear and a Tritium dot front. Both took fitting but I like the sight picture.

Check these out, there's a couple options.

                              .45 ACP?

If you already have the rear sight, the typical front sight height for a .325" rear, is .185". If you want to be safe, get .190" height, and file down if it ends up hitting low. This combo has worked for me in all of my government sized 1911s.
