I want to know if the Micro Desert Eagle Is CA legal?

I found the following answer back in 2010; is this still the case in 2017?


Answer in 2010:
The Magnum Research Inc (MRI) Micro Desert Eagle is not on the CA DOJ approved list.
So, the only way a CA FFL dealer can transfer it is via Law Enforcement sale or private-party transfer or out-of-state intra-familial gift.

If this is the case, can someone elaborate on the intra-familial-gift? Please..

Intra-familal transfer can occur between certain linear relatives even if the "giver" resides in another state.

The transfer must go through a CA FFL (if giver is not a CA resident) but is exempt from the roster.

Father or mother to son or daughter, or vice versa, is the most typical. Aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, are not applicable.

Let's not confuse the issues.

"CA legal" can mean "Can I purchase it new in CA from a dealer?" or it can mean "Is it legal to posses in CA?"

Yes, Micro Desert Eagle is *legal* in CA, and no, Micro Desert Eagle is not on the roster and cannot be purchased new from a dealer.
