    S & W Chiefs Special Target Model

After several years of patient looking I have finally purchased a Chiefs Special Target Model. There have been a few offered thruout the country but thanks to the LIST my only hope was a California gun. Found one and just an hour from my house. (smile)

What's the model # on that revolver? The chiefs special usually had a 2" barrel with no adjustable rear sight.

      Good find!

That's pretty cool, thanks for sharing. I thought 3" J frames were a more modern preference (e.g. the M60 Pro Series and the M63). I have a couple old blue M34 kit guns with adjustable sights, but they are in 2" and 4".

              Congratulations on a good find.

You are fortunate. I bought a 3" Model 60 on Gunbroker.com, knowing that the Model 60 was on the roster, but this particlular Model wasn't. I had to cancel the transaction.

This is a 36-1 on Gun Broker. Bright blue finish, plain extractor (no barrel lug) Square butt; probably early 70's. Non-California. Mine is a 36-6, satin finish, full barrel lug, round butt. A California gun.

Nice score OP. I love the look of the glass bead finish. Enjoy!

Very nice. The Target model 36-6 with the 3” full lug barrel was a special run in 1989.
