    Stupid Question Alert

I have a Para-Ordinance LDA Tac-Four .45 in OD green. I purchased it when I was a resident of Nevada. Now I need to know, in California, is this gun legal or not?

Yes, a new resident can bring over any personally owned handguns from another state, sans standard (10+) magazines, and must fill out the $19 DOJ form to register them.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Not that I see. Hawk is correct, unless it has any AW features, then you're good to go.

It is not legal in CA, probably becasue of the high capacity magazine, if you moved here after Jan. 1, 2000. 10 rounds or less magazine is what you need.

Here is the form that you would need to declare the ownership of the pistol.

the handgun itself is not illegal in CA. It may not be on the Roster of not unsafe handguns because Para did not submit it for testing. But the fact that it isn't Rostered doesn't make it illegal. It just can't be sold normally through a CA dealer. But possession and Private Party Transfers through a CA dealer is legal.

Just get the reduced capacity magazines for it and you should be fine. Register it with the personal handgun importer form linked above and you should be fine.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

The pistol is absolutely legal to bring into this state.
As for the magazines that hold more than ten rounds you, must not bring them assembled into California.
You can bring them in un-assembled and sell them for replacement parts. One thing is for sure, if you decide to keep them for use outside of California,do not assemble them in California in any capacity that allows for them to hold more than 10 rounds.

The gun is fine - it's the magazines which he may not import. Para apparently does make 10-round mags for it.
