    Glock gen 3 striker rattle

I've been reading the forums for a little while, and this is my first post. I recently detail stripped and cleaned my gun and dropped in the ultimate pyramid trigger. I also cleaned the striker channel with a q-tip and a little solvent. When I put everything back together, and racked the slide I could hear the something rattle. I took the slide off, removed the barrel, & recoil spring/guide rod and examined the breach face. I noticed that the striker was shaking a little bit, but still staying behind the breach face. Tested the safety plunger and it does drop past the breach face only when it's depressed. Is the rattle behind the breach face normal when the striker is cocked back? I'm planning on going to the range this Sunday and don't want to damage anything.

    Thank you.

I recently bought a G29 and it has the striker rattle if it's not cocked. Seems to help a bit if I have one less round in the mag. A search on Google revealed it was pretty common on that model with no real solution. So, I live with it. I don't have the same problem with my G20 or G43. Others with more knowledge will chime in.

Thanks. Mine is a G34 gen 3. Also, just read on another glock forum that when the striker channel is super clean like I just did, that it will likely rattle behind the breach face and that it is normal. The important thing I suppose is that it doesn't drop unless the safety plunger is depressed. I am new to handguns and this is my first firearm.

Sometimes the cartridges will rattle in the magazine as well. I seem to notice this more with the slicker nickel cases but it happens with standard brass as well, sometimes only when inserted into the gun. Mines a G26.

IF you have a clean glock you WILL hear your stiker rattle.

Thanks for the input. I've shot about 1000 rounds through this before I did any modifications, except for the sights. I changed that at about 500 and saw an immediate difference in my accuracy. Since then, I've done a few things to it without being too flashy (I hope). Either way, I'm satisfied with the feel during dry fire. We'll see at the range this Sunday. There's a group of us going to insight in Artesia if anyone wants to meet up.

This is the one hole you don't want to be inside with. Don't lube. Don't clean with solvent. Maybe take a dry qtip and wipe it down every 5,000rds or so, but I don't. On all 3 of my glocks, I just leave it the way it is.

Oh, and the rattle is normal if decocked

Correct, the striker rattling around when it's not cocked is a good thing. If it does not then you need to use a Q-tip until it's clean and dry.

The rattle ocurred when cocked, although it never passed the breach face.

I'd have a Glock Armorer check it out to make sure your modifications did not defeat any safeties. That is not right.

This guy talks too much, but at minute 7, it shows exactly what was happening to me. Is this guy talking out of his neck or is he spot on?
