I ended up buying a 45 Expert last week. Wish I could've gotten a tactical.

I've read that the HK 45 are similar to the HK Expert but with better ergonomic grips. People have said these HK's shoot as accurately as semi-custom 1911's. So you being a 1911 enthusiast, what do you say about how they compare in terms of ease of shooting accurately and precisely? I know apples to oranges but both shoot .45 acp.

I will certainly agree with the accuracy claims ...I ACTUALLY shot it better than I shot the Pro that day. The HK45 shoots very soft and gets right back on target with more of a soft, rolling recoil, vs the 1911s sharper more straight back recoil. Both are wonderful in their own right and If I had to choose, I wouldnt. I would take both. OK OK, I might go with the HK due to a few more rounds.

I agree it's one of my favorite pistols to shoot! It's very smooth and pleasant as well as really accurate thus far for me. I'm glad you enjoy yours as much as I do.

At this point, I have two HKs in 45---the newer 45C and my "Old Reliable" USPf---I'd like to have an HK45, but what's the point---these two handle most of my 45 needs---the USPf just can't seem to miss, and they both never fail to function…
Yeah, I have a 1911 type and a couple of other 45s---but these two are my go to pistols in 45...

OP. Have you had a chance to shoot a HK USP Expert or USP Elite yet? I can just imagine if you put a Merkle weight on it, it'll be even softer shooting and faster followups.

By the way, thanks for posting up the video.

                              HK45 Range video

I shot my brother's HK USP 45 compact along with my Les Baer and the accuracy levels were both similar.

For some odd reason, every time I shot the HK45 (three different HK45's on three different days) the POIs were all about an inch high from 10 to 15 yards.

                              As always, great video OP.
