Smith & Wesson Model 686 - What Price?

Would like to sell but cannot find a way to price it because there are none to be compared to. All guns I've seen for sale have been used, this one is new.
This is a model 686 - no dash, pre lock. no pin. It has a 6" barrel and is stainless steel.
I bought this gun from the 'Old Sacramento Armory' on 6/23/2086. I took it home and took it out of the box and cocked it a couple times, ran an oiled patch through barrel and cylinders and wiped the gun down with an oily rag then re wrapped it in the waxed oily paper it came in and then put it back in it's box. It's never had a cartridge put in it's cylinders. It was then put on top shelf of closet and been there ever since. It is in pristine condition. Has original box and all papers and cleaning rod that came in the box, just as I carried it out of the store.
I live in Sacramento, so it's already in California.
I've attached some not so good photos because I have and old camera and I'm not much of a photographer

WOW, that really is new! It's futuristic new! LOL.

I picked one up used for $600 a while back. It was in "like-new" condition. I probably would have paid an extra hundred or two if it was brand new and never fired, if that's any reference.

You bet - there is a premium cause it's in CA already.

I suppose to put it in perspective I see 686-6 Plus models sell (used) in the classifieds for $650-$850 and that's not even the pre-lock model.

Take a look on gun broker

          Advanced search- completed auctions

I am intentionally ignorant on collector guns.... I shoot

Not sure what a NIB gun commands as a premium over one that has had a few hundred rounds fired.

I have seen some abused guns but it is really a challenge to shoot out a 686.

Maybe add $200 if trying to sell the gun in Ca due to limited supply....

Hmm, alter ego post? It is not a Performance center. Ohh, I get it, you are pushing your OWN sale. Weak.

            I thought you were banned.

$800 and it sells quick, $900 and it sits a while and take $850 if someone offers that to you, more than that will be tough to get. These are good six guns but they made lots of them for decades now.

Really? Too high? It's just that I happened to see some used/fired 4" variants with box and papers sell for over $1K. The OP's is similar and is unfired, but has a 6" barrel. Probably doesn't happen all the time, but it can fetch that much.

So perhaps not BS... but excuse me if you don't agree with my post.

WTF???? Contribute something worth while or nothing. $800 to $850, if you have matching box and papers around $900-950. Good luck.

Very nice. Bought one in 1985, shot many rounds through it and sold it in 2008.
