What is your guy`s opinion for the best pocket plunker? Im talking about weight, size, accuaracy and of course stoping power. I have been a owner of a Beretta Tomcat .32 and it was ok. I want something with a lil more punch to it and a lil lighter.I was thinkin about the Ruger LCP,but after reading about the recalls, I am thinking something else..opinions guys.

S&W 642 revolver
The only gun I have successfully pocket carried is my S&W 642 revolver, an airweight .38 J frame weighing 15 ounces empty. It is light weight enough to avoid the problems of heavier guns in a pocket, and is small enough to fit in a regular-sized front pocket. I have used a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster with it. It works best with dark colored, pleated pants and a cover garment worn outside the belt.
The gun is absolutely reliable, but has a heavy DAO trigger and "two finger" boot grip. I use the Speer Gold Dot .38 +P ammunition designed for short barrel guns, which gives about 860 fps velocity in the 2 inch barrel.

I would suggest a small 38 that can handle +P loads.sigpic

Only pistols I've been able to "pocket carry"Comment

Taurus makes quite a few snubbies in that size and weight range that will not kill your budget.
NAA Mini Revolvers and NAA Guardians come to mind as well.
I wish a pocket pistol was made in 9x18, that would be totally sweet. I will never give up my Makarov though, I freaking love that pistol

I have both a KelTec P3AT and a PF-9. The 9 is so small that I almost never need to carry the even tinier .380. My initial plan was Kimber CDP Ultra .45 for EDC, the PF-9 when I needed to be discreet, and the P3AT for those times when I needed my carry to be truly undetectable. The .380 almost never gets out of the safe. Of the 3, the PF-9 went back to the factory after 200 rounds, no problems since. The other 2 have been problem free.People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

I have one, but it's 32 ACP. The 380 is a touch bigger, but not by much.GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment
