    compact 9mm options

I was thinking of purchasing a Kahr CM9 which I saw last year at Turners on sale for $399

Now I don't see it on Kahr's list of California approved pistols, I checked the state website just now.

If the CM9 is not available, does anyone have any other suggestions? Hopefully based on your experience with the weapon, not just hearsay.

I was interested in the Kahr because it was so light and slim. And it was much cheaper than the PM9, not as refined, but substantially the same pistol.

Now what are my alternatives? It seemed more compact than the Glock and XDS and I handled it at Turners and it fit my hand well and was so light.

I now regret not buying it then, but I was concerned with other weapons like my soon to be "assault rifles" lowers.

    Thanks for any feedback.

Are you sure you saw a CM9? It was probably a CW9.

More than likely it's the CW9. I've seen it go for as low as $379 at Turners.

2A Zone has the CW9 (an excellent little pistola) for $329.99, and it shows as "in stock". You will never beat that deal, so if you are on the fence......

CM9 occasionally (not on roster), and PM9 fairly regularly (on roster), come up for private party sale on Calguns. Cheaper than new usually for a used PM9. Be patient and you'll find one soon.

If you search the Marketplace, there are several PM9s in southern Cal and northern Cal. Where are you located?

Great deal on an off-Roster subcompact 9x19mm pistol in the WTS forums...

Great deal because of all the accessories (extra magazines, holster, factory laser).

I got the pm9 and I would suggest u buy once cry once. I doubt the cw9 is smaller than a xds since also own an xds in 9mm. I waisted a lot of my time and money buying impulse buys and cheap pistols when I first started buying 7yrs ago. I don't own any of those firearms anymore and havent sold one in quite some time. I actually bought my pm9 in New condition for $400 a year ago either way youll be fine just my 2 cents. Good luck op

OP handled a gun at Turner's. OP is probably in southern Cal as there is no Turner's up north.

I carried a 9mm Shield for a couple of years. Perfect size and a pretty good shooter. I just retired it and replaced it with a 9mm Springfield EMP. It's runs great, good enough to carry.

The shield is ~$400 so it's in the same cost ballpark. I assume you're looking at a single stack so that eliminates a lot of options.

                        Good luck

My favorite compact 9mm is the Sig Sauer P239. Its a single stack magazine. I have owned a Glock 19 and 26, but I favor the P239.

If 5 rounds is sufficient for your needs I'd recommend looking at a Ruger LCR as well.
