    Match ammo?

Is there a significant difference in match vs reg?

Gonna be shooting my first match (9mm and .45)

Would I gain any real advantage with match grade ammo?

It depends on the kind of shooting you will be doing. Most match ammo is tailored to the event and reloaded by the shooter (or few companies like https://atlantaarms.com/ammo/ )

        Regular ammo is fine.

Way too many other variables that will affect your accuracy for ammo to make any difference for you.

Think of match ammo as being held to higher loading standards and being more consistent in shot to shot.

Purchasing and using new ammo from a known supplier will be as effective as you need.

Enjoy your match. Bust out some dry perfect practice the night before or morning of. It will aid in your confidence.

On the .45 auto you might see a difference on the 50 yd line but only if you & your gun can shoot a 3" or so 5 shot group at that distance.

Yep, that's all it is. You can buy factory match ammo and its just ammo with a higher quality control. But any match factory ammo is still different from one another so you'd best be better off using the SAME type and make.

As a reloader my match ammo I individually weigh each charge, make sure all primers are fully seated, and drop test each round into the barrel (when removed from the pistol).

Doing this also allows me to reliably load as soft as I can.

GSSF? Well, if you wanted to, you could shoot low powered gamer loads, since speed is a component of GSSF.

Factory "Match" ammo is typically for consistency and therefore accuracy, things you don't need for GSSF. But ... low recoiling ammo is an advantage for speed and reasonable accuracy.

I used to shoot Wolf .45 in PPC out of my HK45 and 1911. I never felt like my misses were due to ammo.

When shot out of 1911's all ammo is match ammo. The 1911 never misses.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Agreed. At IDPA I shoot CCI aluminum cased ammo. My misses are definitely not due to the ammo.

If you don't have a real match gun, you probably won't notice the difference. I had a National Match M1A, and it shot like crap regardless of what ammo I used. Yes, I tried match ammo in it.

Just reloading your own on a single stage press, using all the same headstamp brass, and weighing each charge separately will give you match grade performance in a pistol.

Probably would make no difference to me because I'm a horrible pistol shot.
