Take your slide off. Remove the pin that is located next to the curvature of the trigger area. Spring, pin, and disconnect piece all come out. You can replace it with a 3/32'' roll pin if the hole bothers ya. Done deal.

Photo below shows P238 HD model, with arrow pointing to hole where pin holding mag disconnect used to be. Assuming same on a standard P238?

Drop the mag, knock out the pin and a little metal "flapper" and a spring should fall out of the mag well. Bag for future use or sale.

Pin won't stay in the frame alone without the pressure from the little spring which originally held it in. I just left the pin hole open. Word is that putting some blue Locktite on both ends of the OEM pin will hold it in place.

Yep, I did the same on my alloy frame. Super simple. I used the blue loctite for the pin, seems to be holding.

You'd have to take a look at the IA's specific policy. Due to the idiotic nature of this state, they're all different.

Hell, yes. In my opinion this modification is very ill advised. If you ever have to use the gun for real, I would not want to explain in court that I had modified the gun in this fashion.

I removed mine and used 1/8" shrink tubing to hold the pin in place.
