    Stupid question maybe?

Was wondering if I can PPT a handgun from one of my buddies that may have a felony case pending. Couldn't find any info about it. Any insight would be great. Thanks.

He is the registered owner but got caught in a bad situation.
The seller is a friend of my cousin.

Yes he can sell it. He just can't buy guns if he is under felony indictment or had a felony case filed on him by a prosecutor.

I am not a lawyer but why would you want to get tangled in this mess? I would stay away from it even if it is legal. JMHO.

Has a court ordered him to turn in his firearms? If not, then you are most likely OK to proceed. He should run this by his attorney first, if he has one.

He is still innocent until proven guilty.

agree. He is not a felon right now.

                    I wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole.

Due to changes in the law, the courts frequently allow guns taken by LEO to be returned to the individual to be sold or transferred to a new legal owner...

If he has legal issue, run it past his attorney and then process the PPt
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

There doesn't seem to be a legal problem, UNLESS, the charge involves firearms, but he should certainly check with his lawyer.

Thanks guys. Told him to run it by his lawyer before I make a decision.
