    It was indeed a slotted screw, was just tightening it up and then it just snapped off. I had tightened the other three much more with no such effect. I'm out of town right now but I'll give it a shot when I'm back home, thanks for the tips.

      For whatever reason, Beretta grip screws have a knack for buggering easily, especially the hex screws. If you overtighten them, even just a bit, they probably won't come out and will strip.

      I was lucky and had the rubber Hogue grips. I was able to pry / rip them off which allowed me to twist them out with pliers. Not exactly the same situation you have but still filed under "Beretta grip issues."
