Single stacker CCW for my wife

She is on track to get her CCW, right now she has a myriad of guns, but she has a Davis 380 she wears around the house. My thinking is that an underpowered gun you have on you is 10,000X better than a sufficiently powered pistol that you left in the drawer this morning because it was too heavy/bulky etc.

Anyways, that Davis works about 100% of the time, but should Iget her something better? Suggestions?

The normal suggestion for posts like yours is to let your wife select her own "sufficiently powered" (whatever that means) pistol. Guns are personal...just like her clothes and shoes. Set a budget and let her do her thing.

Try out the Sig Saur P239 in 9mm. My 13 year old daughter can competently shoot this handgun.

another vote for the Shield....being a 1911 and Glock guy, I am still impressed with the Shield...it has become my off duty everywhere pistol...

her CCW, her gun, her choice.
unless she is willing to go to a range and try out another pistol, let her be.
if she has already tried out everything people here are suggesting and she settled for what she has, let her be.
if she wants something else, i'm sure she will let you know......

                  Roger that!
The SIG Sauer P239 is "light enough to carry comfortably, but heavy enough to shoot comfortably."

If she is most comfortable with a .380, a Glock g42 or Sig p238 are excellent replacement choices (I own and have carried both).

The small Glocks and Shields are my go to recommendation for almost anyone.

Anything has to be better than that Davis, that is universally derided as a unsafe POS.

Take her to a range with a good rental selection and let her work through her options.

As far as off-roster options, she might find a CG'er here that will let her try one of these as well...

That's my thinking too, I just want to get her pointing in the right direction. That Davis is really convieniant to carry, even have a IWB holster for it.

That is the answer right there.
