    Best 9mm pistol?

I planned to have a Glock 19, but a screaming deal landed me a P226 Elite. Very pleased with it. Still thinking of getting a G19 for the experience and also to compare against the P226. Anyways, the CZ-75 and its Tanfoglio copies make me want to add one to the collection.

Can anyone explain to me why the CZ-75 is so popular? I also plan to get a Walther PPQ M2 to have a taste of striker-fire. I wanna have all I could before buying them is no longer a choice.

All that aside, what do you think is the best full-size 9mm pistol?

I've got about 10 different 9mm pistols, my hands down choice every time I go to the range is my CZ75 tactical sports. Incredibly accurate, easy to shoot and a fantastic trigger. The TS is a single action only gun if that matters.

Very close second is the Browning High Power.

CZs-Good Ergonomics, reliability, affordable, metal, customizable. However, best full-size model and brand varies with the individual and budget. Rent, beg, borrow what you can to shoot first prior to purchase.

"Can anyone explain to me why the CZ-75 is so popular?"

Shooting one is going to give you the most complete answer to your question as far as i have established. Some shooters get it and some do not. This is ok, they are not going to be as prefect for everyone as they are for me.

I think the Tac Sport is a fine target/competition pistol but it would not be my choice for a first CZ unless you were looking for a target/competition pistol that is. I feel that an SP-01 or 75 SA are better options for a first CZ that is potentially more versatile.

226 is nice, but now you have to figure out which version.

G19 is good, but not in the same league.
            G17 or G34 for a full grip.
I added the Pearce +0 extensions to my G19 mags. to get three fingers on the grip.

Rent and find shooting buddies to cull the list.

              Various CZs

              Various 1911s

              Various PPQs

...but the P210 rules them all.

The BHP has a less than great stock trigger...but after a trip to Fremont Nebraska it can make the list.

The "best" is relative. There is no one "best" gun for everyone's wants, needs and bodies. How a firearm fits an individual is a very important thing and there isn't one gun that fits everyone "best".

OK, maybe I will drop the G19 idea.

YMMV, but for me, my Sig P226 Elite Dark and Beretta 92FS (with a few upgrades) are neck-in-neck for first place. I like my Glock 19 too, but as was said earlier, it is not in the same class as the all-metal guns. I'm sure there are many other great 9mm pistols, but those are what I have.

One of my friends has a target model 9mm from Sig. Is has been troublesome and Sigs Repair service is less than stellar in every way. Dang it is one of the nicest pistols to shoot that I have ever short. Would that make it the best? 9mm 1911s are great XD.Glock and CZ are wonderful as well. Define best.
