    SVI Infinity Tracker

I wanted to get some opinions out there. I am seriously considering buying a SVI Tracker in 40 cal. I've owned one before and loved it! The price since I first bought one has skyrocketed to 6k!! Am I crazy or is the SVI the top of the pistol mountain? As soon as I can I'll update with pics.

If you can afford it go get it. You only live once.

My build came out to $5200 :/ No sight tracker, but a full length single stack with 10mm/.45ACP.

You had the privilege of owning one before, I'm sure you know it's worth it even with the price increase

SVI is on the roster. STI is not. Also, to convert the STI to sight tracker system would cost close to $1K as well. Add steel grip another $750, trigger job $350 and before you know it to get comparable features you are looking at the same price as an SVI but shorter barrel and not as good quality.

If he wants to compete in the Limited division of USPSA/IPSC he has to go with the .40

Thanks for the feedback. I bought the SVI Sight Tracker today from a private party.

Both and finding a 9mm private party was not going to be easy.

SVIs are very nice, but they are certainly not at the top of the custom 1911/2011 mountain, in price or build specs.

Any pistol built by the "Louder Than Words" group of gunsmiths could easily top the SVI in price and quality. Stan Chen for example...

Do you have an example of a Louder than Words build?

You can get a 9mm conversion for that SVI gun from Infinity. Here is what they told me when I inquired about it:

To add a caliber conversion in 9mm is $1200.00. This will include barrel, guide rod, reverse plug, recoil spring, extractor, ejector, and breech face.

Tanks, I will eventually look into that. My first SVI was in 40 and it was great. The price tripled since my fist purchase, so spending an additional 1,200 isn't going to happen immediately.
