Pre 2017 Owned AR Pistol: Are these my only options?

    Hi all,

I read through the threads in regards to the new regulations with Ar Pistols, I just want to confirm that the following are my only real options:

    1) Register it as an assault weapon

    2) Utilize one of the AR mag locks and not have to register it

    3) Remove my gas system and make it a single shot

    4) Convert it the lower over to a rifle lower and build another featureless build

I'm considering #4 but wanted to see if there was something coming down the pipeline that I might not be aware of. In talking with a few of the local shops in socal, everyone keeps saying to wait.

    Any help is appreciated

        5) Remove yourself or the pistol out of the state.

        6) Contribute the heck into the CRPA and hope we can overturn these unjust laws.

Keep in mind that if you build the pistol lower into a CA compliant rifle, sadly it can never be a pistol again in CA since it would then be considered an SBR. Unless you possess another pistol lower, you would have to dispose of the pistol upper to avoid Federal constructive possession issues. With the many options appearing in the market you may want to wait since some of the new products may potentially facilitate a faster mag change than the bullet button does.

Good advice. I was talking to a friend the other day and recommended he wait. I just saw this today - another calgunner shared this product.
