    Is it me?

It seems like my aim is getting worse every time i go shooting. I used to hit water bottles easy with my RIA .45 full size at 10,15 yards. And now i miss a lot. Could it be the gun? Or is it me?

    RIA 1911 full size gi

Start with re checking your grip. If possible have an experienced shooter shoot the gun and see if it preforms the same for them.

Make sure your sights have not moved.

I could not hit anything last time out with my Colt. I looked at it at home and the set screw for the rear sight was loose and was all the way to one side.

How much time between when you shot well and now? I took a long unintended break from shooting (almost 6 months) and noticed that I needed a lot of work to catch up.

You could check your sights on paper too.

                      Seconding this.

I had this when I first started shooting. My first few trips were great, then I slowly started moving down too low from anticipating recoil. I did the drill where you mix snap caps in with live rounds in your mag to practice proper discipline when firing, and my accuracy has been great since.

Are you shooting other guns at the same time? I noticed that happen to me, because I was shooting soo many different handguns that I was using the same hold. Different guns have the sights set differently sometimes.
My Glock I hold at 6 o clock, my HK USP I center target.

Yup. Sounds like you developed a flinch.

The more you learn about shooting and it's intricacies, the more you think about them and create errors. When you're newer you don't really have any specific expectations so it's all about relaxing and having a good time. But just like with anything in life that you take too seriously, you end up over thinking it and making yourself worse off.
