What do You think is causing popularity of single stack 1911 in 9mm?

Ah....everybody wants what they can't have?

The 1911 is a quality gun, but .45acp is an antique. 9mm has the same performance, less recoil, and about half the cost. Combine them both and you've got a winner!

They are fun as heck to shoot. Recoil isnt all that much more than a .22.

          9mm is older.

I chose 9mm to avoid having to load .45

What makes you think it's popular? A little more info would help us.

I have no desire to own a 1911 other than 45 and I have owned and shot both. Most have been sold. Only own one 1911 and looking for another to takes its place at the moment. I must say, I'm not a 1911 fanboy either. Buying a base gun then dropping another $500-$3,000 to make them shoot reliably, seems counter productive.

I love 1911's, have a bunch of them. I own them in 9mm, 45 & 38 super, all have their place and joys to shoot. The plus of the 9mm is cost of Ammo

I have 1911's in .40, 10mm and .45. I plan to add .357 Sig and 9mm 1911's over time. I have a ton of ammo and sigs in .40 and .357 sig. But I've found I like shooting the 1911's more. So essentially I'm buying pistols to shoot the ammo I have, lol

Springfield Armory Loaded Target 9mm shoots reliably and accurately enough. About $1,000.00, which is kind of over-priced for what it is, but in California it's that or the Kimber (same price, slightly better fit and finish), which a lot of people don't like (for whatever reason).

You can sink a lot of money into either, but you don't have to. Both come with ramped barrels and adjustable rear sights.

I've got two 1911's in 45 and one in 9mm, the 9mm has at least 1500 rds thru it. My 45's have maybe 500 between them. I love a government model in 9mm.

Because they are a blast to shoot and are easy to modify.

Ammo cost, I sold my1911 in 9mm to purchase my SP01. Sometimes I regret it. But I think I made a better switch. Better accuracy, same ammo & recoil, same customizability. I may some day purchase another 1911 in 9mm, but I'm not in a rush. I would rather have a 10mm or 38 super.

Similar here,...sold my 9mm 1911 cuz I shot the SP-01 way more often. Now that I got both tuned 97B (.45) and Stock ll (9mm), I don't think I will go back to 1911.
