    Yet another roster question

I am actually ashamed of this. I've read the stickies. I've searched here and Google. I've read the law (zomg so many $5 words). I still don't understand the following...

If I want to buy a handgun from out of state that was made before the roster, and it's used (not just "oh this is used wink wink" but properly hella used) is that something that can be bought? Like this:

But without the hi cap magazines, of course.

New or used, it don't matter. It has to be listed on the roster as of the date of DROS. For example, if you find a used Glock 22 gen 3, it can be shipped into CA and transferred to you, because the G22 gen 3 is on the roster. Older Gen 2, or a used gen 4, can not be.

The FFL shipping the handgun into CA must also be registered (obtain a Firearms Shipment Approval number) with the CA DOJ before shipping. Some out of state FFLs wont do that and say "screw Kalifornia buyers".

Wrong. I picked up a used Walther P-1 from out of state a few years ago. Got it shipped to a FFL here, and I'm sure it wasn't on the roster then.

It can be imported and sold in California if it is over 50 years old.

My Walther P-1 was only 30 years old.

Depending on the date of manufacture -
Walther began production of the P1 in 1956
https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/cen...mm-walther-p1/ that might have been, or thought to be, C&R and thus exempt from the Roster.

            Unless
            - the buyer is exempt (usually LEO) or
            - the transaction is exempt (usually intrafamilial or 2 CA residents in a PPT) or
            - the gun is exempt (usually C&R)
a handgun purchase transferred through a CA FFL is subject to the then-current Roster.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
