    45 Shield

Broke it out over the weekend and LOVE it.
No pics, but went to range today and ran a hundred rounds of Federal 230 gr FMJ through it. Flawless, just like my 9 Shield.
The roster, and the prices created by it suck, but this was a good buy, and I am very happy. As much as I like my 9 Shield, I like this more. Only marginally larger and heavier, and I'm using a holster I had already. I think it's time I started re-loading .45.............. I'm going to go through a lot..........

Pics on the next trip................ tomorrow

        45 Shield

How is the recoil compared to the 9? Always thought the Shield in a .45 would be the perfect CCW weapon but wondering if the .45 caliber would be unpleasant in such a small package. Shot the .40 before and didn't like it but we all know the .45 recoil is different from the .40. So I am hopeful [emoji6]

I am shocked how well the recoil is handled. I would rather shoot this over a G-23 any day. Follow up shots seemed quick. I am not sore, I do not feel beat up from the re-coil at all. The thing that hurt the most today was loading magazines with very stiff springs.
I may shoot the .45 and the 9mm side by side for comparison. I agree with you about the Shield 45 possibly being the perfect ccw weapon.........

I have only shot the 45 and 9mm and the recoil on the .45 isn't bad at all. It shoots almost as well as the 9 for me. The recoil profile is obviously a bit different but it isn't unpleasant by any means.

The 45acp is much easier to control for me than the 40sw. The 45 holds the same amount of rounds as the 40sw and feels about the same. The 45 is a win...

Anyone know if S&W plans to spend the money to put it on roster?

Thanks for the Range report. Good info. Maybe some day I'll be able to gety hands on one and shoot it. Actually until I can find one for sale I would rather not know what I'm missing. Haha.

It's not a money thing. No new semi-auto can qualify to get on roster.

If it's anything like my XDs .45s, the recoil should be very manageable.

I was at Magnum range in riverside Saturday afternoon, guy next to me let me try out his 9mm and I liked it. 45acp I'll stick to steel frames. Yeah I know "man up"
