    SA MC Operator 1911 Question

So I've recently started looking into buying my first 1911 and this MC Operator has really caught my eye. Just one question though. They seem to fly off the shelves fast. I've noticed everything online shows an updated model that comes with G-10 grips and a newer front grip texture. Everything I've seen on the shelves still have the wrap around Pachmyr grips. Are these just older models or is that what we get here in Ca?

Pretty sure the pachmyr are the CA legal version, however someone may correct me. If you want checkering and can spend a tiny bit more, the TRP is worth looking at. 1911's are fantastic. Join the 1911 Master Race

Springfield still produces the old style MC Operator (green frame and Pachmyr wrap-around grips) for California. The newer styles are NICE!!! Of the new ones, I like this one the best and is the one I would buy if I lived in a free state. http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...-acp/#PX9105LL

I think it's the same one you're looking at too. There is an MC Operator on the classifieds that's had some work done (similar to the one in the link I posted above) that is all black Armory Kote. Nice!!! But, it's a bit uptown in price.

Like most manufacturers, they do guns in batches and so you'll see them flood the market from time to time. Be patient. Springfield makes an AWESOME 1911 and the MC Operator is a great gun. They really stand behind their products for the lifetime of the gun no matter the issue.

        Happy hunting and be safe!!!

Yes the Pachmyr grip version is the only CA approved MC OPERATOR.

This is available for the uptown price $1950

If your anywhere near San Diego, Morena Gun Mart and The Gun Range both had a MC Operator in stock as of 3 weeks ago.

I bought one a few weeks ago and love it, well worth the price of admission . I wasn't crazy about the Pachmyer grip so i replaced with a set of G10's from VZ. Also put on a SA magwell.

Ugh I was afraid of that. I went ahead and place my order at Ammo Bros. Maybe somehow some way I will get the new style.

Doubt it. Remember, you're dealing with *The Roster*...

Meanwhile, you might make your own, save for the frontstrap octo-grip checkering. Find some G10s you like and add grip tape.

I liked the smooth frontstrap on my parkerized Loaded, and wanted another. When I figured there might be a smooth frontstrap underneath the CA-roster-compliant Pachmayer wraparounds' version, I looked for some G10s. Bingo: two smooth frontstrap SA Loadeds!

Should I attend a good shooting school and find that I need some fs traction, I'll have along a piece of grip tape cut and ready to go. Meanwhile, I shoot it as pictured...

Those look good! I've actually already ordered my dirty olive drab G-10 grips from SA. 👍🏽
