Are you kidding me? I bought a Springfield Pro LR a week ago. It came in Thursday..and TODAY I get the email from Buds guns saying it was in stock. I signed up for notification 1/4/15.

So.....If anyone is looking for a Pro. They're in as of 4pm today.

I dunno at the new MSRP... it's a nice 1911 but at $3k+ it doesn't stand out from the crowd much. The equivalent Wilson is just as good, and I say this as someone who has a Pro and will never give it up.

I predict these will become more and more available. Over the last 5 years, these were never just sitting in inventory and this is now the third occasion over the last few months.

            +1.
A couple days after I picked up my first Wilson (CQB full size), I asked the CalGunners what I should get next. Many said the SA Pro.
I ended up doing a PPT for a CQB Compact.
For that price range, nothing better in my opinion. But you know what they say about opinions...

So, you decide to talk crap about the people who answered your post for recommendations? And you are putting down a gun that as of a week or two ago you knew nothing about? And probably still don't?

              You sir are an a-hole.

                  You sir are an a-hole.

I'm re-reading my post, and I may have chosen my words carelessly.
I absolutely valued all opinions on my prior thread seeking advice for a 1911 in this price range. I am in no way putting down anyone's opinion about recommendations.
I am also not putting down the SA Pro. After reading opinions here and asking folks at the range, I merely decided for myself I would prefer a Wilson, and that my ever-changing "plan" to get one of each of the high-end 1911's no longer made sense to me.
I am new to 1911's. You are correct as far as my knowledge and experience with them-I have very little.
When I said in my prior post, "...you know what they say about opinions," I believe this came to be understood in a way I had not intended. I was directing this to myself, as in, my opinion is only that and may or may not be shared by you or others. I'm afraid it sounded more like I didn't appreciate the opinions I solicited in my post seeking advice.
If that is how it sounded, I absolutely agree with your analysis of my character. However, I promise that is not how I intended it to sound. Further, I apologize to you and anyone else who may have interpreted my response as one who did not appreciate the opinions for which I asked.
The response to my advice-seeking post was fantastic. As I mentioned before, I valued very much the feedback I got from all. I even enjoyed the off-subject conversations within that thread.
To wrap up my long winded response, the opinion I expressed here about Wilson was based on my own research including (heavily) the opinions of others. I have no experience with the SA Pro, nor any other 1911 save the Wilson I acquired, with the exception of an SA MilSpec and a Kimber I briefly borrowed at the range. I apologize for my prior post where it sounds like I gave no consideration or value to the opinions I sought. The opposite is true, and I only meant my opinion might be considered of no value.
I'm sorry for upsetting you, Nor*Cal, and anyone else who was upset by my poor choice of writing. This community is one I respect tremendously, especially given the huge response to my prior inquiry. I want to remain a part of it.
                  Thanks for reading.

^^^^As long as your happy with your decision, that's all that matters. I get a sense that too many here put too much weight in others opinions instead of forming their own from what they have learned.
                    **** your feelings!

Much ado about nothing in my opinion. You're fine. What you wrote is fine. You're entitled to your opinion and yes...it's true what they say about them lol. I think NorCal just took it a little personal. I've done it, it happens.
                      Don't mean nothing

Hell, if anyone should be offended it should be ME. I'm the one that just bought the pro! Hahaha, makes me want to shoot it and then try the Wilson and see what, if anything, is different.

I think (uh oh, another opinion) from what the community here feels, you have chosen a pistol that qualifies as The Best in many ways. If I had gone with one of my plans (get one of each of the high-end 1911 manufacturers), the SA Pro and Nighthawk were at the top of the list, and a Guncrafter if there were .45 ACP examples on roster.
Looks like we're too many miles away from one another to share our 1911's at the range (I'm close to Sacramento). I would love to actually try the SA Pro.

I'm also just now realizing I responded to some posts that followed your original post. Had I considered your original post as I should have, my response would have been less a-holey! Apologies for that. Now I think I know where Nor*Cal is coming from. Pretty lame on my part. Must not have had my head screwed on very tight...

Nah, I disagree. If everyone favored the same platforms/brands it'd be a very boring forum.

The railed Pro has sat instock at buds now for over a week from my knowledge. These used to be in uber high demand, until the harsh price increase. Correct me if I'm wrong but I often see the railed Pro pop up for sale very rarely do I see the non railed version available. I'm still waiting for my reserve order I placed with buds over 2 years ago for my non railed Pro @ $2,350. I agree with most others, for 3k I'd look to NHC/Wilson. The Pro seemed to fit in with the Baer's and Browns of the world at the sub 3k price point.
