    MC Operator

I am posting this here before i go running to the for sale section. I have owned this handgun for 6 years and really like it. unfortunately it is probably the least shot of all my other 1911s.

I bought it used from Faith Armory and have done some minor upgrades since I got it. First was have the front strap checkered and have a trigger job done by Jim Hoag. Had to have the frame cerakoted since the finish was wearing off and the closest I could come was McMillan OD Green. Slide was done as well in flat black. Barrel has a mid mirror finish to it (kinda hard to tell in photos). Hammer was switched out to an Ed Brown Hardcore Hammer and a Sith and Alexander magwell. Grips are Nighthawk G10 golf ball pattern. As far as rounds through the barrel I cant speak for the previous owner but for me only about 500. The gun shoots great and is still really accurate with no signs of significant wear. Only other change that was made before me was the rear sight being changed to a fiber optic (no tritium) and what appears to be a Wilson Combat extra wide ambidextrous safety.

If I decide to sell it I would be asking $1,300.00. Unfortunately I do not have the case (the gun did not have one when I bought it).

Would there be any interest out there for something like this? Do you guys think its a fair price?

    Thanks

I'd pay $1,300 for that gun if I was in the market. I like the FSC and magwell and the Jim Hoag trigger job is just a bonus along with the other minor upgrades.

I'd want to check out the insides though for any signs of abnormal wear first being that it's changed hands twice.

Why put a .250 radius beavertail on a Springfield .220? Other then that it looks great and I like the checkering. I think it's a fair price for the work done on it as many wish the MC came with checkering like that then the wrap around grips.

That's one of the things that was done prior to my purchase. All I switched out was the grips, hammer and mainspring housing/magwell.

I like everything about it except the MSH, honestly I would buy a bone stock one before yours. Simply so I could upgrade what and how I wanted.

But I do not think you will have a problem selling yours here in CA for $1300.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

$1300 seems like a great price considering the front checkering and Hoag trigger job is worth $500+ alone. Not a big fan of the MSH, grip panels and grip safety, if you have the original parts I would list that in your ad.

That's the thing with modified guns. You rarely get back what you put in unless the right buyer comes along who happens to want those exact modifications. Take front strap checkering for example. Some like 20 LPI, others prefer 30 LPI and still others want 25 LPI. And while you're adding checkering, might as well undercut the trigger guard (Colt style or Wilson or ?). And since all that requires refinishing the frame, might as well blend the mag well and pick a color other than OD Green.

Your gun has the straight cut dust cover on the frame, which could be worth more to some people but others might prefer the later angle cut that better matches the slide. Although a version of this pistol is on the roster, your frame would be somewhat rare for CA.

What's the problem? It's like a market place add that you can thread crap all over with out fear of repercussions.

Beats another "should I buy a G19 or SP-01" thread
