Looking for some advice. With all the new laws etc., and the Henry Mares Leg being listed as a pistol, is there any problem bringing one into California???

Yeah you cant have one of those here, nothing to do with new laws. Its an sbr. -
Thanks. Not sure what an SBR is, but guessing it stands for short barreled rifle??... maybe?? Henry has them listed in their catalog as a Pistol. So wondering if that makes a difference.WITHOUT THE 2nd THERE WON'T BE A 1st...]Comment

If that's the case, then i'm not sure.Comment

I have one, plenty of other folks do too. They are pistols not SBR.
Getting one into Ca is up to your FFL. I have heard some FFLs doing single shot bolt action transfers on them.Comment

Looks pretty cool. Wouldn't mind testing it. Awfully heavy for a pistol ~4.5lbs.Comment

It is an off-Roster handgun, therefore it can only be legally transferred using an exemption (LEO sale, out-of-state intra-familial gift, PPT, SSE2*).
*SSE2 = a few CA FFL dealers will transfer them under SSE2, because it can be argued that a lever-action is a type of bolt-action. Which means with the tubular magazine's capacity reduced to 0, it could be considered a bolt-action single-shot pistol.sigpic

Yep, I have one too. Some FFL's are selling them using the exemption you describe. I saw some for sale at a Crossroads show last year IIRC.sigpicComment
