I have a Glock 19 I'll be selling and will be building a specter kit (G17), I have over $1000 in my G19 ($550 G19 and $550 ZEV, Tru-Glo, Vickers, etc) should I put it back to stock and sell the parts off or sell it with everything and how much could I really get with everything left in it? Everything was changed, Zev mag-well, Zev mag release, zev professional striker, zev safety plunger, zev ejector, marine turbo cups, striker release plate, striker firing pin spring, striker buffer, vickers slide release, tru-glo tfo sights, apex flat trigger, ghost trigger links, adjustable trigger housing and slide take down and i think more in there. What would you do?

My vote: "put it back to stock and sell the parts off"Comment

Stock and sell the parts off has always worked well for me. I've actually made a profit doing this.

Put it back to stock.
That said, the specter kit looks like a legal disaster with the new ghost gun laws. Be sure your well versed in how and what you need to do to to identify your weapon before the new laws force you to add a huge plate to the side of it. I was thinking of going this route for the fun of the hobby, but decided if I wanted another glock, I would just buy another one and call it a day.
If it were me, I would keep the G19, but I also have a hard time selling anything, even old parts I have no plans for generally sit in bins....Comment

Makes sense to go back to factory, i was looking to do a race gun set up and i know the whole 80% thing is still very dark grey. I've done the 80 thing and registered them to the atf before but note that legally in cali reg'ing a firearm to the atf means nothing to the state as they view gun meanings and laws differently. Atf could care less what you make and our reg but the state of cali will see you as a clear and present danger.Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Keep it. You'll never get anywhere near what you paid for the Zev parts.Comment

Sell it stock.
FYI.
Any handgun made in CA, needs to comply with CA unsafe handgun laws.
Therefore, when making a pistol in CA...
Option #1.
You build it with a magazine disconnect mechanism, chamber load indicator, microstamping array, and submit it for safety testing to CA DOJ.
Option #2.
You build it as a dimensionally compliant bolt-action single shot pistol or dimensionally compliant break-top/open single-shot pistol.
Otherwise, it's an illegal unsafe handgun that would be subject to confiscation.
In addition, since this is a Firearm Manufactured By Unlicensed Subject (FMBUS), unless it is engraved in accordance to CA laws/regulations, it will be illegal to possess starting 01-01-2019.Last edited by Quiet; 01-10-2017, 1:18 PM.sigpic

Seems to me that people who want a glock with all the doo dads and gee gaws want to build it themselves with the parts THEY want, just like you did.
If you want to recover more of you money. Sell it stock and sell the parts individually. It will take longer sure but people are willing to pay reasonable prices for parts they want. Most people are not willing to pay extra for parts already installed that they don't care about or know they'll want to replace.Comment

Since you already own many spare G19 parts, wait a little and build a 80% Glock 19: http://www.brownells.com/handgun-par...prod97837.aspxComment
