    Fixed mag ak pistol

Seems like we have less than a year to come up with a way to keep our ak or ar pistols from getting registered as assault weapons or you can choose to quit fighting and register. I came up with modifying a mag so that I can reload it without having to remove it from the weapon. I thought of the way you load a stapler when I came up with this. Please feel free to copy, modify, use, or come up with tips on how to make this work just don't copy and try to sell it, we need to help each other out. Note the hole in the mag is way too big but this was my first attempt, my next mag will be a bit
Here's just the mag so you can see how it works. Blue tape is just covering big hole I made that doesn't need to be that big.

      This only applies to rifles.

AR pistols should comply with an ARMaglock style setup, but the AK mag is going to be more difficult...

Maybe it is time to put a fixed stock and a pinned barrel extension on it like the one that Atlantic sells.

I hated my M92 as a pistol, but I love it as a rifle. In fact, I was going to go for the stock/pinned extension, but decided to make it an SBR instead.

Thanks for working on this and trying to give us another option.

Great idea! I am planning on doing something very similar but use the jperl lever mag design instead of the bottom pull tab.

I actually like shooting my ak pistol, single point sling and push forward. I wish I could sbr but then again if we could sbr here we wouldn't have this issue with aw in California

I would drill a hole in the back of the mag just bigger than the round . But excellent Idea .

A hole in the back of the mag causes the round to fall tip first, they line up and fall the right way thru the side

                      Fixed mag ak pistol

Need input and more ideas! Making the magazine permanent on an ak pistol will be easy without modifying the weapon itself. Insert the mag then weld a piece of flat stock to the magazine thick enough between the mag release lever and the body of the magazine to not allow any movement of the latch. As far as the ar pistol, I think the new patriot bb would be an easier solution to a fixed mag.

Hey I was going to do just this modification.

But I was going to use a flexible piece of wire or cord that clamped to the side.

Does the rod interfere with movement of the follower, does it actually only hold 10 rounds?

Can you use a narrower single stack magazine? I wondered if it would help control the round position in the magazine and give extra length.

My other choice was a magazine base that clamped on. You'd pull down the follower and lock it then unclamp then entire bottom of the magazine. Flip the gun over, dump in the rounds, clamp closed and release the follower.

I had the same idea! I don't want to constantly pivot my ARs open.

The lever or pull down is made out of metal banning material used to tie stuff to pallets, it does not interfere with any movement of the follower. The ak one works great but the ar one is too long due to the magwell being so long on an ar. Seems like everyone had the same idea so let's see some modified mags and different ideas. We need to beat this bs aw ban!!!!

Insert the mag and mark it. Then, remove it, drill and tap a small hole in it. reinsert it and use a cap screw and locktite to hold in in place. Obviously, the screw will be on the inside of the action. This way, no modification to the firearm is needed and, it can be removed by disassembling the action.
