    Jennings

What do some of you think about the Jenning 380. Good or garbage ?

Will they hold up, or break real easy ?

they generally survive one magzine's worth of firing which is often why the capacity is around 7 or 8

The Jennings is a wonderful pistol. Use it as a projectile weapon and throw it at the bad guy to distract him while you draw a real handgun.

I guess thats why they sell for less than 100 bucks on the auction sites.

        Thanks

It's better than a sharpen stick, but not something you should rely on 100%.

You're probably better off with a Hi-Point if you're contemplating about getting a Jennings. I think they're made of the same Zinc/Alloy recycled potmetal. They're both wickedly ugly, but the Hi Point has a lifetime warranty - not that that should bring you any comfort.

Decades ago, we bought a friend a Jennings 380 for SD on his roadtrip. We told him it was a security blanket to make him feel safe, but that was all we could afford at the time. That's the problem with the law. The Saturday Night Special and Junk Guns that are being banned, have their purpose. It's for those law-abiding people in the lower income bracket that can't afford the Berettas, Sigs, Glocks, and Colts.

(Sorry, I'm starting to Thread Jack. I'm a bad person. )

Skip the Jennings and get a Hi Point if you really need something like that.

I'm going to go get one, just on principle. Where do they sell those things?

                  Jennings, cobra, etc... are JUNK.
But, if you do have one seriously consider choping the frame per BATF specs and selling it on gunbroker as a kit. Firing pins alone are worth $50+. Part it out.

jennings has been defunct for a while

search for jimenez arms i think its the conglomerate of old lorcin/bryco/jennings/phoenix/raven/davis

or as handgun control would call them the "ring of death"

Cheap, but in my experience the J22 I had went bang everytime that's as long as I have good 22lr ammo in it. I ended up selling it not because I wanted to get rid of it. I had one of those relatives that wants guns that he sees goes bang all the time.

It's alway good to have a Jennings on hand to drop next to the body. Other than that, don't trust them to work when you need them to.

I have a hardly used Jennings 22, I hardly used it because it is unreliable. Still at 50 bucks in the box it has kept its value.

if this were true, then this would be the most reliable jennings that i have ever heard of. an entire magazine you say? posh! my "jam-o-matic" has never cycled 2 rounds in a row.
