    A lot...

You would need a way around the roster (single shot exemption would likely work).

Then you'd need to lock the mag and have a capacity of 10rds or less.

K this is going to sound crazy but I want to build it like up like the MP5K so, just out of curiosity couldnt I get my FFL/gunsmith who has a AW license get it for me and attach a buttstock and a 'permanent' fake suppressor(for 16" barrel) then sale it to me as a rifle?

Cant blame a guy for asking

Whats the point? You can buy an MP5 clone and besides the handguard it would pretty much be the same..

Good Point. Guess I just like the shorter handguard and really would like it to be a SBR but go about it legally, ya know.

You wouldn't be able to SBR it to put a stock on it, but you could AOW it so that you could put a Vertical Forward Grip on it.

For the GSG rifle, you could put on any type of stock you wanted, as long as it was still 26+" OAL with the stock in its shortest fireable position. IIRC, there was at least one folding stock out there that would make it a CA SBR because the OAL was under 26".

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
