    1911 Grips

I just bought a Les Baer Premier II, it comes with squared off bottom grips fully checkered. They're fine but I like rosewood double diamond and the conventional angled bottom. I've previously bought aftermarket 1911 grips, not a new experience. But some are thinner than others and/or not quite as wide. I'm not talking about the deliberately thinner "slim" type, just some are less full than others. I like the full grip feel. Any suggestions on which to buy? Must be wood or laminate, nothing metal or the VZ type.

Sarge at The Finer Grain makes grips that will fit the LB frame. LB grips are about 3mm wider front to back than normal grips.

The Dan Wesson factory cocobolos are pretty thick. Pretty, too.

Thanks. I have the DW 1911s - CBOB, PM7 and Heritage - will give those a try. You're right, they do look nice.

Didn't realize the LB frame was different, will check The Finer Grain.

If my PM-7 didn't come with beautiful and functional cocobolo wood grips, I would purchase these Kingswood grips. One of a kind and made in USA.

I did a bit of measuring. The LB grips on the gun are 1.62" wide at the base and .260" thick - considerably larger sized than the others I have and what I've checked on line.

I don't normally cross post to other forums, but for 1911 grips I suggest you visit this thread on 1911 forum.
