Hickock 45 on YouTube gives a good review of the gun.

If I am remembering correctly last month's issue of American Rifleman had a pocket pistol comparison article.

Smith and Wesson bodyguard 380 acp and keltec p3at are similar in size to the lcp. I think they are also off roster.

Kahr also has a very small 380 acp pistol.

I've had on LCP for a couple years. Definitely took some getting used to. I don't have any experience with similar pocket pistols to compare it to. It is picky about ammo and does not like some flat nose rounds. I had to paint the front sight with nail polish to be able to see it at all. (I have an intermediate generation with arger sights and a better trigger than the original ones, but made before the LCP II came out.) The combination of a heavy trigger and the small size of the grip requires some practice to shoot with acceptable accuracy.

However, once I had practiced with it and found ammo it liked, the little thing kind of grew on me. It is amazingly small, light and concealable. I think the lines of the gun are just superb - all the edges are "melted" and there is nothing to snag on clothes. As long as I use ammo it likes, it is completely reliable. For sure there are other guns I like to shoot more, but I think this one fills its niche admirably.

I'm with Sandhill. I've carried mine for two years. Conceals easily but it's hard to learn to shoot. But mine has ran all ammo without ever a hitch. I'm a chunky guy who likes to wear tshirts and cargo shorts. So this fits the nitch perfectly for me.

If you are the type to tear it down completely, you'll want to buy replacement frame pins. They're plastic and break easily. I've broken three myself so far.

Ruger LCP is an excellent pocket gun, and is perfect for summer wear here in Texas. My EDC is a Sig P938 Equinox, but when I'm out for a run, or need something ultra-pocketable, it fits the bill. Modify it with the Sweet Pea trigger from Galloway Precision to reduce the trigger bite, or take a look at the Ruger LCP2 that recently came out.
