    Springfield Micro

It appears the Springfield Micro with stainless slide and alloy frame has been discontinued by the company, but is still on the roster & renewed until Jan 2018, with ambi or single sided safety.

    PX9801L (ambi safety) / Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP 1/1/2018

    PX9801L Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP 1/1/2018

The above listed is the Micro, correct? Why would SA discontinue, but renew for another year? Also, any CA stores carrying and what's a ballpark good price on one?

That is indeed the correct model number. And you are also correct that they no longer make the Micro models. I believe it has been 3 or more years since they discontinued it. Not sure why they would continue to renew it but at least that allows us to buy a used one from out of state. I'm sure you can find some on Gun Broker.

The MSRP was $1060. Good luck.

The few I'm seeing float around $900.00.

I have a few Detonics, an EMP and Defender. I'd like a "stainless slide, black alloy frame" 45 ACP with 3" barrel 1911 with the shortest grip possible. My ideal would be the Detonics short grip in alloy with a 3" barrel. So many of the shorty 1911s have a grip that carries 7 round, not 6, and is just a tad longer than I like.

I'm not a Kimber fan, but they seem to have a few CA OK models which fit the above and for a fair amount less.
