First 3 boxes ammo (150 rds) break-in, no problem at all. I expect the recoil more or less like 44 mag. but it is not, just a little bit more than 9mm. My comments are:
    - The front sign kind of small, I will paint it in white later, problem solved .
    - The trigger kind of heavy compare to SA 1911 Loaded 9mm, may be the pistol is new, just wait and see until couple hundreds rds more.
Final notes, I am very happy with this RIA.

I bought a RIA Tactical 1911 and severe issues with feeding. Tried several magazines with the same result. I called RIA and right away they emailed me a overnight shipping label. Less than 3 weeks later I got my 1911 back and the issue was resolved. It can be a hit or miss with RIA but in regards to their customer service I can say it cannot be beat and they back up their product!

          Good buy OP.

I had a RIA FS Tactical but sold it because I couldnt stand the billboard on the slide. I thought I could live with it. Fit, function and finish were good for the price point, shot point of aim and no feeding issues. A GI model is in my future.

For $70 more might as well get the Citadel 1911. It's a tactical version of the RIA.

It has a better parkerized finish, comes with two mags, better sights, better grips, back-strap checkering, ambi safety, front slide serrations and better spaced serrations overall.

Trigger of the brand new RIA 1911 GI kind of heavy, what I need to do to make it softer ?
              - shoot more until the pistol is break-in ?
              - deburr (with file&sand paper) the around the edges of : trigger, sear, hammer ?

How heavy is 'kind of heavy'? The trigger pull should be right under 5lb.

                  It's around 5# plus, I had SA 1911 it's around 4# less. I may get spoil with 4# less SA 1911.
May be RIA trigger will be softer after the break-in , it has 150 rds so far.

I haven't gone through many rounds in mine but I also bought the standard model. Accurate and no issues so far.

Only problem I have is the grip safety tends to dig into the web of my shooting hand. After a couple of magazines it will have cut into my skin unless I'm wearing gloves.

I purchased a beavertail grip and spur hammer from Wilson Combat and still need to install them. That should take care of that issue and give it a slightly updated look too.

It says you are in LA. Do you make it out to Angeles Range? If so, hit me up next time you are planning to go.

I've got six. All run WC springs and mags. Great guns. I'll buy six more.

This is Exactly what happened with my RIA Tactical I bought a few years ago...Sent it back, they gave it a "Reliability Tune up" and it has run like a top ever since, no issues at all and it is a tack driver. Love my RIA and the customer service is awesome. AND - As far as the sights go? The black on black was hard to sight in when aiming, I bought a bright red metal paint pen that they use to touch up fire hydrants, put a dab on the front and filled in the 2 holes in the back sight and I now have an easy time acquiring the sight picture, works great!
