    Shoot and repeat.

I've read that general maintenance (spring changes mainly) after thousands of rounds is needed to keep things working on the up and up...but that goes for most guns anyway.

Congrats on the new Sig. I'm a new Sig owner (P220ST) and proud of it.

Clean it well. The gunk they package it with is a dirt magnet.

Sigs tend to like running a bit on the wet side, so get the rails and barrel lubed up after cleaning.

Clean well before first trip to range.
Lube well, Sigs like to run wet esp along the rails and barrel.
Shoot the hell out of it and it gets better the more you shoot it, esp the trigger.

I use Militec-1 (or your preferred oil.. not 10W30) as a coat on the barrel and in the rails. The rest gets CLP (your choice).

Tomorrow, I'll get some grease first, then clean it well, then I'm gonna grab my gear and drive to the range.

great choice. like the others said u have to clean it real well because of that nasty grease they come covered in. ithink its to prevent rust while on the shelf. they do like to run wet. and if u experience any hiccups along the way, give it sometme. needs to get broken in. u may get some ftf or fte malfunctions at first but they may go away with some more rounds. i have a 220st myself and love it. both the 226 and 229 are on my list of must have guns.

lol... when i first signed up on sigforum.com 8 years ago, one of threads i remembered was people using mobil-1 synthetic oil for lube...

oh, and people baking their sigs in the oven to "set" in the lube...
