Hi everyone,

I just moved to Glendale, CA and am registering my CA legal
handgun and had a few questions. I am submitting the BOF 4010A form to the CA DOJ, how long do I have to sell or transfer my gun to a registered dealer once i submit the form? Once I sell or transfer my gun to the dealer, how do I get it back? Do I have to purchase it from them? Will they charge me even more to purchase my gun back from them?

You fill out the form and send it along with $19 to the DOJ. You don't turn the guns over to anyone. Just the form and the cash, that's all.

Why would you be concerned about the weapon back from the dealer after selling it?

Where are you getting info that you have to sell or transfer to a dealer? The only thing you need a dealer for is to get a FSC (Firearms Safety Certificate) so that you can list it on the form.

Fill out the form (there is even an online version) give the state $19, and your done.
