    Anyone have a PX4?

Looks like a cool pistol. I like that rotating barrel feature. Lockup should be nice and tight and give great accuracy. If you have one or shot one please tell me what you think.

For me, the Px4 Storm was one of those ho-hum pistols when I bought it. It had great ergonomics, and the trigger seemed nice, but I hadn't shot one yet. When I started putting rounds through it, I was blown away. It performed as well, if not better than, my HK P2000 and Sig-Sauer P228. I liked it so much that I bought a second one. Both are 9mm "G" (decock-only SA/DA) versions with slim/stealth controls. My first one was bought as an "F" (decock+safety SA/DA), but installing the slim/stealth controls converted it to a "G" version. My second one was bought as a "G" version, but with standard (protruding) controls, and I just had it hanged to the slim/stealth ones.

Below are before/after photos of my first Px4 Storm (note the slide-mounted controls, and the slide stop lever).

Unfortunately, you cannot buy a Px4 with the slim/stealth controls installed. Dave Olhasso sells these factory parts, and will install the slide one for you for $15. See: http://www.olhasso.com/beretta/px4.htm

Thanks for the great pics! Hows the accuracy? Any problems with HP ammo?

Accuracy is outstanding. I am not sure to what extent this is due to the rotating barrel design, smooth/crisp trigger, ergonomics, or relatively low bore-axis, but it is nonetheless a suprb shooter. Beretta's 92 design does nothing for me, but the Px4 Storm blows me away. It makes me wonder why they even bothered to develop the new 90-two.

The latest issue of NRA's "American Rifleman" magazine has an excellent review of the Beretta Px4 Storm.

A Japanese magazine entitled "Gun" had an article earlier this year about the Px4 Storm that was very photo-rich. If you'd like to see a scan of it in PDF, send to me an email (lunde@adobe.com).

Yeah it was the A.R. review that cought my eye and got me thinking. My local gun shop has never had one in house so I knew nothing about it. I very much dislike the 92's so I was not sure how I would like the storm. I'm glad to hear you also dislike the 92's yet love the PX4. I'll have to poke around to local shops and fondle one

              Thanks for the help

                You won't regret getting a Px4 Storm...

I took one of my Px4s to the range this afternoon. Yowza! It confirmed for me what a superb pistol it is. Smooth and crisp trigger, and it shoots dead-on in tiny groups.

                    SP01 compared to PX4?

Dr. Lunde.. How do you like the Beretta PX4 compared to your CZ SP01?

Honestly, I like the Beretta Px4 more. But, keep in mind that I have much more trigger time with it than with the SP-01. The Px4 is a lighter pistol, because the SP-01 has a steel frame. In terms of ergonomics, both feel absolutely superb in the hand. The Px4 has a better out-of-the-box trigger, in my opinion. I am glad that I have both.

Thanks for the comparison. Hopefully I can get both, but I have been leaning towards getting the PX4 first.
