    21SF dilemma 30SF

I have a dilemma between these two.

    21SF Pros:
    - Better grip
    - Ambi release
    - Picattiny rail

    21SF Cons:
    - Heavier
    - Bulkier
    - The size is not ideal for me

    30SF Pros:
    - Lighter
    - Best size for me

    30SF Cons:
    - Grip is not ideal. Need to install Pierce Grip extensions
    - No ambi release
    - Inferior rail type

FWIW the 21SF with the Pic rail is not the 21SF you'll find in California.

Stick with the 21 unless you're gonna be carrying.

Actually saw a rental one with it at Reeds.

Get the 30SF and put the +0 mag extensions. You already said it fits you better. Why buy the 21SF if it feels wrong in your hand? My 2 cents.

Actually, 21SF grip is better than 30SF, but the overall size is bulky to my taste.

+1 to what Blademan21 says. If you aren't a lefty then forget ambi release and make sure you have night sights to make up for not liking the rail.

It's my understanding that when the 21SF was first released, some of the Pic railed ones snuck into the state along with the Glock railed version, but only the Glock railed 21SF is on the list. You can find the Pic version via PPT, but at this point they are not as common as the Glock railed ones and they sometimes command a bit of a premium.

EDIT: While it's theoretically nice to have a true 1913 rail, most of the light/laser devices on the market are Glock rail compatible/have a Glock compatible version.

The decision seems pretty obvious then, unless again, you're planning on carrying.

I'm inclined to suggest an HK USPc, but you really won't like the proprietary rail on that thing hah. If your pockets are deep enough, see if you can get your hands on an HK45c, even better if this NRF thing works out.

I don't like extensions, so the 21SF has my vote. The slimmer frame is easier to hold and shoot single handed. With the rail, can you even find a holster that fits the pistol with your light choice? I think a custom made holster is your only choice, with a light. Even the choices for a holster without the light are limited as well in the SF line. But I still like the fit of the pistol, and it is a fine shooter.
                Very interesting!!
