    Daughter father transfer

My daughter's husband bought her a Bersa 45 Thunder UC .She lives in Az.

She doesn't like it and wants to give it to me. It is not on the Ca approved list.

Can we make this work legally??

Intrafamilial transfer is perfectly legal even for off roster pistols however, it must not have any features that'll categorize it as an assault weapon IE threaded barrel etc. No magazines that have a capacity of more than 10 rounds either.

This transfer will count per the 1-30 day rule.

Just find an FFL that will assist in the transfer.

UG imports does those , They are located in Fremont.
Also search the threads here on Calguns, There is also a sticky I believe.

From what I have learned, she can gift this gun to you , But you must go through a California FFL. Drop gun off in person, accomplish paper work then come back in Ten days for pickup.

I also learned that MOST FFL' s have no clue how the process works.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
