    Which Single Six?

I'm thinking about buying a new Ruger Single Six to add to my .22's. Which model of the new Single Six do you think is the best and why? I like the 5.5" stainless adj. sights but would a longer barrel be better? Is the hunter model more accurate? I would use it for plinking, target and rabbit/squirrels next season. I have a MKIII hunter now and love it but want to expand my collection.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Brian

Go with what you like. There is nothing wrong with the 5.5" Stainless. Great guns.

      Stainless 5.5" sounds good.
I've been eyeing the S&W 617 in a 4" barrel, but may decide on the 6" after all.
Might as well get a 10/22 if you want a longer barrel.

I've had a 5.5", blued, fixed sight model since 1970 or so. The bluing is a bit worn, but I prefer it to stainless, and have never felt the need for a longer barrel or adjustable sights. Out of ten or so handguns, it is the one I'll never let go.

I have a 5.5" single six stainless fixed from the 70's. Love it and cherish it!

I have a blued 6.5". You really cannot go wrong with any one that you choose. They are great shooters. Mine is actually a magnum only version, not sure how rare that is. I dropped a Wolff spring kit in mine and its even nicer.

Check WTS forum, someone is selling a Ruger 50th anniversary for $425.00

Mine is a 5.5" in blue with adjustables on it. Balance is just right for me and having adjustables is pretty important with a convertible model. I don't think you can go wrong with a Single-Six in whatever version you choose.

I have an unmodified 6 1/2" from 1964(win mag only) and a scoped 9 1/2" from 1990. Both are great guns, though the 9 1/2" is a bit cumbersome.

The 6 1/2" is a great camp gun when carried in it's holster. I fitted a .22 LR cylinder to it and turned it into a cheap plinker. I've had many hours of fun with it.

I think any model you choose will provide you with endless enjoyment. I know that both of mine have.

I have a 5.5" stainless Single-Six convertible. Have had trigger job done on it along with nice grips. Great shooter. Really like shooting .22 mags out of it.
