    357 Revolver

    Hi guys,
Looking for a California legal revolver in 357 Mag.
Are they still on the list?
If so, how about the Ruger Vaquero?
Never know if the websites are up to date.
Help me out if you can; I appreciate it.

There are many, many on the list. Ironically the Vaquero is exempt from the list because it is single action.

What exactly are you looking for. DA/SA, SAO, DAO, barrel length, finish, etc...

      357 Mag Revolver

      Sorry, Didn't give enough details.
Looking for 5" - 6" Blued finish in single action.
Doesn't look like I'll get my choice.
Stainless is OK; mostly looking for barrel length and not priced out of this world ($500-$800) or there abouts.
      Thanks,

Shop around for a Vaquero, a quick check on Gallery of guns shows a blued 5.5 inch barrel for mostly less than $700 at the local dealer's to me.

The new model Blackhawk is even less.

Well if you want single action then you can get just about anything you want. Check out Uberti/Cimarron if you don't want to spend the money on Ruger.

As long as it is single action, with at least 5 shots, at least a 3" barrel, and at least 7.5" overall length, then it is roster exempt.

Here is an example of prices - and Tombstone is a good place to order from.

The Frontier Pre War is popular. I have one of these and it is very nice: https://www.tombstonetactical.com/ca...5in-6rd-blued/

But I will still probably snag a Ruger someday.

I wasn't aware of this exemption. So, if I wanted a Colt SAA made in, let's say late 70s, 7.5" barrel shipped from out of state, as long as seller was on board the gun is roster exempt. Sweet!
I see your swartz is as big as mine, now let's see how well you handle it

A Ruger Vaquero would be a great choice.

The new Ruger Flat Top single action revolvers are super nice.

I have both a pietta/cimarron 5.5" SAA and a Ruger New Vaquero. Of the two, the Ruger is built better, HOWEVER, the Pietta handles much easier since it weights less. The Pietta is closest to an actual COLT SAA, the Ruger is not. Both are chambered in 45LC. Be aware that only the Ruger can SAFELY have all chambers in the cylinder loaded. The Pietta is almost an exact clone of the COLT SAA and so it has the firing pin on the hammer, so you can only carry the gun safely with 5 rounds loaded. I like shooting the Pietta at targets to about 25 feet. The Ruger can shoot accurately to about 25 yards. Just my 2 cents.
