Alpha Wolf Conversion Barrel Failure to Feed Problem

    Hi Everyone,

I have a Glock23 (Gen3) and I got an Alpha Wolf Conversion Barrel 9mm. The barrel works perfectly with CCI Blazer Brass 115 Grain FMJ 9mm (non-hollow point).

I then tested the barrel out with Freedom Munition XTP (hollow point) Reman 124 Grain 9mm ammo. I got the Failure to Feed problem consistently.

I am wondering if anyone could recommend ammo that can avoid the FTF problem on an Alpha Wolf Conversion Barrel 9mm.

    Thanks in advance.

That is odd a barrel would cause that. Have u tried looking at the feed ramp? Could be something to do with that. It's the only thing I think of.
Hopefully someone else can give more insight

How is it failing? Is it getting stuck on the ramp or part ways into the chamber? A more specific description might help with the diagnosis.

Your problem is with remanufactured ammo. Get some WWB, UMC, AmEagle or Perfecta. I will bet you won't have the feeding problem like you're having with the reman ammo.

I'm guessing your malfunctions are partially fed round and most of the time they get stuck in the chamber. The reason is the chamber in those AW barrels are reamed to min spec. The reman ammo are not sized good enough for the chamber.

I have a 40-9 conversion on my G35. The reloads I use for practice that work 100% through my other 9mms will not seat fully in the LW 40-9. My match undersized ammo that is gauged to min spec will function through the LW 40-9. I ended up reaming the chamber to regular spec and now it's all good.

Think twice before reaming the chamber of the AW barrel for it is coated. Either stick with factory new ammo or reload with a small base sizer and gauge your loaded ammo with a match gauge.

I'm no help in the matter, but I'd like to know if the barrel is accurate, when it feeds and shoots.
