Question on Glock 23 10 round mags

While I prefer the G19, as many of you may already know, there are many reported reliability issues with the G19 10 round mags when using HP ammo, problems I've personally experienced. In my case FTF's on the 10 th round. I was able to alleviate the issue by simply loading an FMJ first and HP's on top, but I would rather not deal with that headache anymore and have mags that I can count on no matter what ammo I use. I've owned 3 G19's, two gen 2's and a gen 3; same problem with all 3 with serveral magazines. I have had the opportunity to shoot all three guns with a normal capacity magazine and all three worked without a hitch, so I know it's the mags, not the guns. I even got replacement followers from Glock, but then the guns would choke on every fourth or fifth round. Not always, but enough for me not to have confidence in using those guns for anything else than range fun.

I've owned a couple of 23's, but that was 15-20 years ago so I can't remember if there were any issues with the G23 10 round mags when feeding HP ammo.

Any info will be of great help before I take the plunge on a 23.

Save your money. Just get the 15 rounders for the g19 and have them blocked to 10. There are several FFLs that will do this. You can even order online.

I seems that I read on the Glock forums that Glock will replace the follower in the 10 round mags with the follower from the 15 round mags. They are different for some reason. Maybe give that a try.

I have both and have not had any issues. I must have gotten lucky!

Never had issues with my 10 round G23 magazines except they are tough to get the 10th round in. As someone else mentioned, I'd much rather buy blocked standard magazines now.

Never have any issues with my G23 round magazines(bought used with gun so no idea if it had been modified), I did have to change the followers on my G19 however due to feeding issues. No trouble with G30 mags brand new.

I have 10 and 13 rounders and haven't had an issue with either.

Jestice Arms is a good place to get the blocked mags.

I've not had problems with my OEM 10 round 23 mags.

Never had any trouble with G23 mags. For JHP, I only ran Fed HST but never heard of anyone else having trouble with other JHP.

Just curious why you wouldn't go to a G17 or G26 if it's for carry.

Just never been a fan of the full size or baby Glocks. I also like the fact that with a simple barrel swap I can shoot 357 Sig if I ever have the itch. Also, whenever there's an Ammo shortage, there always seems to be .40 on the shelf, so I'm thinking it might not be a bad thing to have a least one .40 in the safe.

Yep, nothing wrong with keeping at least one .40 for all those reasons.

you need to get the followers marked 9mm6.

Shot several hundred rounds of HST and hydra shock and not one issue with the 10 rounders in my 23 or when i use them in my 27.
