If I wanted a plastic gun I would buy one from Mattel. There is no substitute for steel in a revolver IMHO.

After shooting the 640s SS for more time than I can remember, I picked up the M360PD, in scandium/titanium/ultra-light-ium, and shot some of the 357 loads through it. Man, it was not fun to shoot those in it. It shoots the 38 WC really well, but that is about it. In the article they were shooting the 158gr +P 38 loads "all day", so I am just wondering how true that statement is?

And I haven't even checked to see if it'll be on the CA roster?

I checked it out at the SHOT Show, while it is the same size as the Smiths, it had a slightly wider and more cushy grip at the rear face. Of course, grips can be changed. I expected it to be .357 capable, coming from Ruger, but at 13.5 oz, I think they decided .38 + P was enough. I'm not sure about that "all day" statement either. It is G&A, after all.
It is ugly, not sweet and petite like a Smith, and yes I do like Rugers.
The next generation of shooters will think it looks just fine.
Ruger has it submitted for the roster testing already.

Thank you ojisan for the hands on report! Maybe Hogue will be making that cushy backstrap grip for all the new line of light weight magnums?

If so, I'll send them my address for the royalty checks

I will say this, it seemed plenty strong and up to being thrown in a tool box, not just a tackle box! Typical Ruger!
Yes, I will have to buy one. Just because, you know what I mean?

I want one if it makes it onto the roster.

it still has too much metal

that little creepy revolver looks straight out of the munsters

with its cylinder looking like some weird pepperbox amalgam it should be polymer with steel inserts

                        the frame is really metal

i would have had a thin metal insert with threaded barrel attachment molded into the polymer framing the cylinder to prevent gas cutting and truly be the first polymer frame revolver
