    Laser does not hold zero

Yesterday was my first time using the laser on both of my handgun
I have viridian C5L. On Sig p229. And lasermax UNI on HK VP9.

After couple of shoot it did not hold zero.
I feel it not the laser has shifted. But the unit itself has move on the rail.
Would you say it not tight enough or is this normal?

not tight enough. it probably has a torque specification that you need to tighten to. if it moves the point of aim will not be rotatable.

The HK has a polymer frame. It will flex.

The Sig should have an alloy frame so it's probably a problem with the mount.
      It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

I used to work for Laser Devices but I'm not familiar with the lasers you are using specifically. Usually when a laser didn't hold zero it was 1 of 3 issues.

        1) Mount wasn't tightened correctly
        2) Diode set screw not tightened (not all lasers have a third screw, Windage, Elevation and SET Screw)
        3) Stripped W, E or Set screw.

          Laser does not hold zero

How did you test your lasers?

Barring any mechanical lissues you might consider the trigger finger is askew.

Dry firing with a laser sight reveals a lot about trigger control, follow through etc..

Just keep an open mind about that.

Sent using 2 cans and a long string.

Get an in-bore sight laser (sightmark). Remember a laser sits beneath your bore and past the point of intersection. If you set your laser at 10 yards, past that point you will continue to hit lower. Changing a laser from one gun to another requires re-zero. Viridian make good lasers, unlike cheap lasers with poor housings and adjustment screws. If its set tight on the pic rail, you should not have a wandering zero.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

ok. I found my problem. such a idiot..

. it was loose. it had another 4-6 rotation of tightening.
