    Chiappa Rhino conversion help ??

    I got a Rhino from RifleGear thats currently SA. I want to convert back over but rather not send it in, pay fees, wait and get back later.

    I have plenty of tools at home, would like to do myself. Does anyone have links to a DIY video or manual? I cant seem to find anything

      Know how to work on revolvers?

      The Rhino is something only an experienced smith should work on. The hammer/trigger tension spring is a bear, and the sideplate is on TIGHT.

      I did mine, but I've been working on guns for over 2 decades (for fun, but still).

      If you happen to travel down to L.A., I could take care of yours. Otherwise send it to RG if you're not 100% comfortable with a pretty advanced project.

          Damn.. well I consider myself good enough been working on guns for about 10 years. Never ran into any problems but by the sound of it maybe I'll skip this one.

          Do you know anything about the Chiappa stage 1 or 2 triggers? I hear it's a worthy upgrade and if the gun is gonna be worked on might want to add it in but can't seem to find anymore of them online.

                  Yuck. Prying with the knife gave me chills..

                  If you use a plastic or brass punch. you can knock the sideplate out through the hole on the opposite side.

                  The hammer spring will likely pop and scuff part of the frame when it lets go, but that's covered by the grip.

                  The part removed to disable DA is on the hammer itself. If you are reasonably good with mechanics, you can figure out how it goes back in there. You have to pull the hammer off to do it.

                  PS- not sure about stage 1/2 triggers. Mine is a stock later model. I greased it a bit when reassembling and it feels quite nice.

                      I'm pretty sure that chiappa has been shipping the guns with the stage 1 triggers for quite a while
