So on the weekend, I finally had a chance to shoot my .50 Desert Eagle with the new Trijicon RMR.
This was the first time that I shot this particular gun, and the first time I tried the RMR, and It made for a pretty impressive combination.
The RMR burned bright and held tight. (Someone on here warned me that the RMR might be unstable because it was so far forward on the gun - but it was excellent), And the gun performed flawlessly. All the brass landed at 4 o'clock in a nice pile, and even with the aluminum grips, my grasp was solid with every shot. Judging by the kick on this mule, the muzzle brake was a necessity as she made sure to let me know she was the "king" of magnums.
I only fired 20 rounds, and though I was only moderately happy with my accuracy, each shot was deliberate, memorable, and exhilarating.
I was able to ding the 25 yard metal targets several times, and even got lucky by hitting the Ram out at 100 yards a couple of times.
I know the Desert Eagle is equally loved and hated for many reasons, but If you are satisfied with your "collection" and can afford a handheld WMD that "serves no good purpose", I highly recommend it!
