    Sig .40 conversion to 9mm

If I wanted to convert a P226 X-Five .40 to 9mm, aside from getting a conversion barrel (planning on getting from Bar Sto), I would assume I'd need to change out the extractor, recoil spring and mags. But in researching on the internet, I've read that people swapped out the barrels with a Bar Sto, and they were able to run with no other changes. They apparently even used the .40 mags.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Just the magazine and the recoil spring. For X-Five its better to sent it out to Bar-Sto and have them fit it. I did and couldn't be happier.
I mean why do you want to have a drop in Barrel for The X-Five?

I have the standard 226 and I have used the same magazines with no issues. Be careful when using the .40 mags that they are clearly marked as such. You can put over ten rounds of 9mm in a .40. You might be better off getting 9mm mags to avoid any legal type hassles anyway. I would recommend changing the recoil spring. You already have it out anyway when you swap barrels. I have never heard of anyone needing to change the extractor on a 226 for this.

Thanks. I found on the Bar Sto site that they recommend changing out mags, but not the springs or extractor. But I think changing the recoil spring is easy enough and will do that.

I have a 229 in .40 and a Bar-Sto 9mm barrel. Shot it last weekend and simply changed the barrel and magazine to 9mm and it ran perfectly.

I will say that the barrel was not a drop in and had to be 'smithed a bit to function smoothly.
