I personally would go with Wilson..

I feel great about their quality control, their test firing before they ship, their customer service, etc.

the other brands are great, but wilson stands out to me as a company that is exceptional in every aspect..

they make customer ordering the exact gun you want really easy

I personally want a full size custom wilson with a case hardened fram, and a polished, blued and engraved slide..

    mmmm

I would get the Wilson CQB. They are well made, not too tight that there is no need for over 500 rounds break-in period fbefore being deployed for self-defense or " combat ".

I have a CQB , it loves my duty ammo. (230HST). Les Baer PII is awesome too. ( my second one). Feeds everything and is super accurate. Want to add another single stack to my collection. Few guys at work really like Ed Brown guns. My other friends just says I should a Colt Combat Government and be done with it. My B-Day is comming up soon. My original thought was to get another Les Baer , but in 9mm. Just want to get something for my BDAY that I will enjoy at the range. Shooting duty Glocks gets old after a while.

^^^ I have a Wilson CA Protector. As for 500 rd break in period, not a single hiccup. Not worried if there happens to be a few MIM parts, as they handle issues with no questions asked. I'm sure the others are great too, but for me Wilson earned my $$ with fit and finish

i have shot lots of the semi custom high end 1911's and to me the difference is minimal. Unless your a collector or competitive shooter why spend more money? they all are shooting the same round right?

I have been paying off a Springfield armory TRP operator with full guide rod, rail and bushingless bull barrel for about 1650. the extra money I save goes to send it to a good gunsmith like dean wilkerson, woodys custom guns, jim hogue in canoga park.

I am not saying dont buy the higher end, just asking why? If im making a mistake I can still move my money over to a wilson, ed brown, les baer, nighthawk etc. (manny of those semi custom guns also have piss poor customer service is the rumor too) Please inform me if I am the one mistaken in my thought process thank you and good luck everyone. stay safe I wouldnt mind spending extra cash but on something very unique like a demascus 1911 slide?!?!?
            I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57

Working man: Les Baer (you won't worry about the finish)

Range toy: Wilson if you like 30 LPI front straps, or Guncrafter No Name if the 15 LPI "grabs" you.

I hate 20LPI, so Springer is out.

If I had $3k right now, I'd get a Wilson Pro.
