With only a few hundred rnds through it, the striker channel shouldn't be dirty BUT if you overlube or carelessly lube, the striker channel can get gummed up.

I'd clean it first and try again with the same ammo and have a couple boxes of quality ammo with you. Cleaning or better ammo should solve the problem. The minus connector won't cause the problem. Odds of a striker problem are very low, but that will be obvious when you take it apart to clean it.

Make sure there's no lube in your striker channel.

I had the same problem with my gen 1 Glock 17. Glock said it was the ammo. I believe it was from over oiling.
Either one I don't think it should keep a "combat" weapon from firing that's why I sold it and got a CZ.

Buy some factory WinFedRem ball ammo and see if it gets light strikes with that ammo. If not then chuck it up as bad ammo for the light strikes. It could be thick Cup or loose anvil. I had a bad primer on a couple of factory rifle rounds during a hunt. Took me a minute to judge the wind and all that set up just to hear a loud click. A restrike set them off. Had one factory round that didn't go off at the range and several restikes couldn't set it off. The primer just wouldn't go off.

Clean the striker and striker channel. Don't lube it. This should be done as part of regular maintenance.

Glock is sensitive to the balance of recoil spring and striker spring.fire it without ammo and take a close look at your slide if it is moving a bit ,it is getting out of battery that's why your getting light primer strike.if your recoil spring is getting soft

Replace it with new one if you change the striker spring to a lighter one for light trigger pull make sure the recoil spring is a little lighter too....rolymonzon

I am also guessing hard primmer. I had the same issue once. I tore everything apart looking for the "problem" and in the end found it was the primers.

Well I took apart the slide and cleaned everything on the Glock 30Sf and took it out this weekend with my new Glock 21sf and shot Freedoms 45 and no issues at all with either guns, so Im blaming the ammo.

It is not the ammo !!!! It's your gun.

My son's Model 30 just did the same thing. I changed out the firing pin and spring. Now it hits the primers correctly.

You need a deep solid primer hit for it to go bang. The bottom pic shows your gun is not delivering a deep solid hit.

Blaming the ammo is a pet peeve of mine. Such a knee jerk response.

Definitely a mag issue. Those Hex Mags in the picture don't run well in the 30SF

Original Owner? Never replaced the striker spring with a lighter one? I bought one used and the owner installed a 3.5 connector, but forgot to tell me he also installed a 2 pound striker spring. First time out it worked 100% for 400 rounds. Next time out I started getting light primer strikes. I replaced the striker spring with a 6 pound stock version and haven't had any issues since.

Because when it is dirty and/or wet, you will get light primer strikes. Almost nothing else can shut a Glock down. No lack of lube or dirt accumulation will stop it, but a wet/oiled/greasy/dirty striker channel will.

Using too much lube on the gun is what causes the striker channel to get fouled. When you shoot it the lube gets blown everywhere, including into the striker channel.

If there is anything in the striker channel creating friction or drag including hydraulic drag or even hydraulic lock from something wet like oil, grease, or water, you will get light primer strikes.

Also, if you buy a Glock second hand and plan to use it for defense, it is a good idea to put in a new factory striker spring, because you don't know if the last guy swapped it for a lighter one to reduce trigger pull.

which makes no sense at all, but as long as you're happy boss. Sounds like you know what's up, next time don't even bother asking us.
